The concept of the metaverse has gained significant attention in recent years, referring to a virtual universe that encompasses multiple interconnected digital spaces and provides immersive experiences to users. We already see many companies building globally distributed development teams. These teams include highly skilled people, but there are some significant issues trying to work efficiently remotely. Creativity, feeling of belonging and communication are all strengthened by working closely together in same physical space. Teams, Zooms and Google Meets are not providing the same experience. There’s also the question of efficient online tools to use within these teams. In this project, we want to focus on highly skilled, professional development teams who are working remotely with each other. How might the metaverse enable better working environment for them?
How might the metaverse enable efficient teamwork for globally distributed development teams? How might the perfect working environment for development teams look like in the metaverse? What kind of tools in practice could be used in the metaverse? What kind of virtual working spaces would enable the feeling of belonginess and team spirit?
