Description
This project explores how citizens view the growing presence of autonomous systems. Right now, there’s about one autonomous system (robot, drone, self-driving car, etc.) for every 150 people in smart cities. In the next 20–30 years, that number will rise quickly, bringing benefits like new services, safety, and convenience to cities and their people—but also challenges like stress and disruption
With drones in the air, autonomous vehicles on the streets, and robots delivering packages in a busy smart city, how can we simulate this in the metaverse? Once we have the simulation, what should be communicated to the citizens and how? There are obvious risks like unauthorized drones using the airspace or emergency situations that could be prepared for in the simulation.
This project uses metaverse simulations to explore risks and responses for future smart cities. Join us if you’re interested in design, game development, user experience, or smart city development!
