Human Beings in the Modern World
Metaverse Journalism
Description
The emergence of the metaverse will spark a paradigm shift in the way we interact, communicate and consume information. Metaverse journalism goes beyond traditional news reporting by leveraging immersive technologies, virtual reality and augmented reality to deliver engaging and interactive news experiences. It blurs the boundaries between reality and the virtual world, offering users a new dimension to storytelling and information consumption. There are also risks involved as we fade human-to-human interaction through the use of technology. Journalism can be made "faceless", and the traceability of stories and facts becomes much more vague.
How might we utilise the metaverse in modern journalism? What are the best benchmarks around the world for using the metaverse as a part of storytelling? How might we design totally new kinds of journalism-as-a-service models when considering the opportunities the new technology offers to us? How should we mitigate the risks? How might we ensure the traceability, ethics and journalistic freedom through the metaverse?
